Move Cards
Transfer cards from one deck to another. Optionally filter by tags, automatically tag moved cards, and delete the source deck when it becomes empty.
8.7 — Move Cards Between Decks
The Move Cards feature lets you reorganise your cards by moving some or all of them from a source deck to a target deck. Both decks can be in different categories.
How to move cards
- Open the Settings Hub (gear icon in the title bar) and click Move Cards in the left navigation pane.
- Source Deck — Select the Category and then the Deck you want to move cards from.
- Filter by Tags (optional) — Toggle this switch on if you only want to move cards that have specific tags. Click Select Tags to choose which tags to filter by. Only cards matching those tags will be moved; all other cards will stay in the source deck.
- Target Deck — Select the Category and Deck you want to move cards to.
- Create tag for moved cards (optional) — Tick this checkbox if you want to automatically tag all moved cards with a new tag in the target deck. When enabled, additional fields appear:
- Tag name — Type a name for the new tag (for example, “Moved from Science”).
- Tag colour — Click the colour button to pick a colour for the tag.
- Tag description — Optionally add a description.
- Delete source deck if empty (optional) — Toggle this on if you want MnemoDeck to automatically delete the source deck after all its cards have been moved out.
- Click the Move Cards button.
- A progress indicator appears while the cards are being moved. When finished, a success message confirms how many cards were transferred.
Tip: The “Create tag for moved cards” option is helpful for tracking where cards came from. After moving, you can filter by this tag in the target deck to see which cards were moved.
